The original Adaptive Mono typeface was developed for a web-building engine in 1999. A mere eleven years later, the Regular weight has been rebuilt as a dedicated coding font. The new offshoot includes optimized / differentiated alphanumerics, beefed up symbols and punctuation, and reduced vertical-horizontal contrast. The variable-serif construction and humanism of the original Adaptive typeface is still present, though, so the uniqueness is still there. The Adaptive Code fonts contain Western and Eastern European characters, ligatures, mathematical symbols, and more.
