BITBLOX MONO IS DESIGNED BY JAMES BEALL AND PSY/OPS TYPE FOUNDRY
We created this monospace font for our Bitblox alphabet blocks. They were inspired by the low-res pixel lettering seen on the computer screens and in video games of yore. The fonts are guaranteed to induce flashbacks in anyone who’s been exposed to consoles / terminals / IBM / DOS / AS/400 graphics in the olden days.
Each Bitblox character is built on a grid of pixels known as a matrix. The matrix creates constraint, but that very constraint yields interesting and evocative forms. Bitblox being a Monospace font means that every glyph will stay within the matrix. Making the font ideal for setting digital type, numbers/numerals, and other technical applications where uniform spacing is required.
The Bitblox Mono font is available for free with a Personal License. Other options are available.
Bitblox Mono is a monospace font containing 246 glyphs: with Western and Eastern European characters, Mathematical symbols, and more.

MORE INFORMATION
The Bitblox Mono font is part of a larger typeface called Bitblox. The whole system is based on low-res pixel lettering, and is especially great for nostalgia themed design. Besides the monospaced font there is also a proportional font, a bold version, a blocked style, an easy outline variant, a whole host of weird dingbats, and two stackable fonts that make using multiple colors easy.
